My Birthday 2011

For my birthday recently, wifey spend me a pancake breakfast at Pancake House Karamunsing.

Gluttony got the better of me though because as soon as I finished my plate of pancakes, I ordered another plate, this time blueberry pancakes!

Tsk tsk!

Then she said she wanted to cook all my favourite dishes for dinner as my birthday present.

So fikir punya fikir punya fikir, I finally told her what I wanted to eat.

Here they are! Tadaa!

Steamed egg, herbal chicken thigh soup, steamed potatoes with butter, and oven baked chicken wings. (And a plate of vegetables, but wifey forgot to take a picture of it)

That is 5 dishes altogether! And she did this all on a working day summore! Imagine how many more dishes she could do if she on leave!

I cannot decide whether to go for wifey’s special oven baked chicken wings or her special fried chicken wings.. both are good! But I chose oven baked one because I love the gravy that comes with it.

I did not get some random birthday present like the wind spinner or something, but I definitely got something very meaningful: food cooked with wifey’s love.

The best present a husband can receive.

Christmas Turkey

For 2 years in a row now, wifey and I was in charge of roasting the turkey for Christmas lunch.

I did mostly everything last year, but this year..

I only do some preparation before going off to work for a while, so wifey take over of watching over the oven temperature.

I also tried something new this year: put bacon strips over the top of the turkey, so it won’t be burnt. It also adds extra flavour to the turkey! Sedap bah tu!

I reached home from work a few hours later with turkey still in the oven, nicely roasting.. So when it is time to eat, I of course took charge and cut the turkey.

I am the turkey chef! Haha

According to family, it was nicely done, so yes, it was a success. Mushroom gravy pun sedap bah!

Christmas: All About The Family

Wifey and her family always teaches me how important family is in life, especially during Christmas time.

“Family is not an important thing, it is EVERYTHING”

That is what wifey always say to me.

I am also learning to appreciate that on every gathering at the house, they always invite my side of family also.

The more the merrier mah kan?

So when Christmas is here, I always look forward to bond more with my family.

Because family is everything.
